Inspired by nature, its palette, its stones, it grand views, my work is intended to be an exaltation of the beauty of the western landscapes that have been the backdrop for my life. I am equally focused on the visual components of landscape abstractions with an openness to the creative process, leaving room for wide variation in subject as well as medium..
The work exemplifies an enduring and deeply rooted love of nature, creativity and the spirit of the land. It reminisces on a childhood filled with extensive travel through the American west as well as a wandering and sometimes gypsy-like adult life. It explores, expands and re-imagines the hidden and as yet unsullied landscapes and wild places examining the look and feel of the Rockies, western deserts of the southwest, and the fecund coasts of the Pacific.
